Just like the previous Instant Air Fryer Vortex Plus, which used Stainless Steel as a unique material, Instant continues to introduce innovations with a purpose. This air fryer boasts with a power of 1700 watts and can handle 3 lbs of frying. The control panel features 6 functions and a light option for the cooking window.
The controls are located on the top and feature a touch function. Once you’ve selected the function, you can adjust the temperature and time using the dial. Additionally, a new feature is the progress bar, indicating the preheat status on the interface and prompting you to place the ingredients in the basket. Instant Air Fryers are the only ones equipped with this progress bar. The maximum temperature is 400 degrees Fahrenheit, slightly lower than the Cosori Pro LE. Whether a temperature above 400 degrees Fahrenheit is necessary is a subjective matter.

This air fryer boasts an above-average power of 1700 watts and can handle 3 lbs of frying. The control panel features 6 functions and a light option for the cooking window.
The delivery arrives in an appealing outer packaging, securely containing the air fryer along with necessary paperwork. Once stickers and unnecessary plastic parts are removed, the fryer is ready for immediate use. As with any other fryer, I recommend running the air fryer empty for at least 20 minutes at 360 Fahrenheit before the first use. This helps eliminate unpleasant odors, and it may kill potential bacteria.
The handling and construction of the air fryer are overall of high quality. The precise seams and durable construction remind me somewhat of the Ninja Air Fryer AF101 or MAX. I see parallels in their excellent manufacturing.
Design-wise, there’s not much to criticize. The top control panel looks modern and the cooking window adds a new look, even if it slightly resembles an oven. The matte surface also protects against fingerprints, unlike the glossy surfaces found on the Cosori Mini.
Frying with the Instant Vortex 6QT Airfryer: The Practical Review
Now, let’s get to the most crucial part of my review. Here is where the good and the not-so-good devices truly stand out, and the Instant Vortex Plus Air Fryer has already made a strong impression even before diving into the details. I decided to test how many chicken wings could fit in the cooking basket, and the result was impressive — 17 wings, more than the Cosori Pro LE or the Ninja Air Fryer Max. The offered cooking area is genuinely enormous.
Now that we’ve established that the cooking area is exceptionally generous, let’s talk about the frying results. I initiated the french fries program, set at around 380 Fahrenheit for 15 minutes. After a 2-minute preheat, the air fryer instructed me to put the fries in. I added nearly 1 lb of fries, and the fryer basket still looked almost empty (see image). Halfway through, after a quick shake, the first results were already visible. I deliberately chose McCain fries, as their browning tends to stand out. The fries turned out very well overall, with some slightly browner spots, mainly at the edges. Despite that, the overall result for such a large area is impressive.
The same process was applied to the chicken wings, and here too, everything turned out deliciously crispy and cooked thoroughly to the bones. Aside from a few spots that might seem slightly uneven, the frying results are genuinely excellent.I initially had concerns that the cooking window might lose heat, but that wasn’t the case. At just over 60 dB, it’s a bit louder than the Cosori Pro LE but still entirely acceptable.
Cleaning the Instant Vortex Airfryer
The cleaning process of the Vortex Plus Airfryer was notably straightforward, similar to other fryers. With a bit more surface area to address, including the additional window, it’s recommended to give the entire unit a thorough wash after each use. Ideally, using air fryer-specific parchment paper can make this task even more convenient. This helps streamline the cleaning process considerably. Additionally, the crisper plate is dishwasher-safe for added convenience.
